Our story, your village

Meet the founder
Hello, I'm Emma - As a qualified therapist with 9 years of experience, I've had the privilege of working with new parents navigating one of life's most challenging transitions. I've witnessed countless mums feeling isolated, experiencing a loss of identity, and feeling utterly alone with their babies. Some require more support than others, and it became clear to me that there was a vital need for a supportive community.

About me ....
Im a Mum of 4, Grandmother of 2, a cat and dog mum too - not to mention Murtle the Turtle and his gang of fish!
Ive been there and got the t-shirt when it comes to raising a baby. Ive experienced feeling the loss of myself into motherhood. Whilst I love being a mum and I loved the baby stages, I wont deny I found it very hard going, sleepless nights, intrusive thoughts, giving up on myself. Sure I stepped up and thrived as a mum and I met my babies needs but what about our needs as mums too!
Im a fantastic listener if you need that support - Ive been doing it professionally 9 years now. I don't judge at all and I have a pretty positive outlook on life. Oh and I have a great sense of humour! Well I think I do anyway! That's what got me through having 4 children!
I have experienced the anxiety after loss, relentless painful breastfeeding, bottle feeding, combination of breast & formula and sleep deprivation. Being a parent is a tough journey but filled with so much gratitude and unconditional love with many many rewards along the way.

Building a village for you
My vision for Mums The Word Club was to build a 'village' – not just for these mums, but also for myself, to connect with other mothers. I've observed that mums often struggle to find time for themselves, and sometimes lack friends around them with whom to share these moments. This is what our village is all about, and I am here to facilitate those invaluable social gatherings for you.

My promise to you
My main goal is for every mum to feel supported and know that they are not alone. I want you to have engaging plans in your diary that help you fill your time, allow for moments just for yourself, and foster the development of new, lasting friendships. I am dedicated to creating a nurturing environment where you can thrive.
